A New Season
A Sabbath Month for Life Church
Dear Life Church Family,
I hope and pray that you had a wonderful summer full of fun and laughter. After a great month of sabbath, I am thrilled to be back together with our church family at Soundhouse THIS SUNDAY (September 1). We will gather together for a time of worship, prayer, teaching, and fellowship. We will have special pastry treats to share as we catch up with each other. And then NEXT SUNDAY (September 8), you are invited to come to our home after service for a special Welcome Back lunch and share a meal around our big table. And afterwards, for those who are interested, we will hang out at Concord Park for some games (weather permitting). Our address is 95 E. 1st Avenue, Unit 906 (Buzzer #9609).
Let me take this opportunity to share a few words about some things that have been on my heart for our church family.
Florys are Moving Back to Ohio
Our church is now officially on summer break. This means that we are not having our normal Sunday gatherings for the rest of August in order for our church family to have an extended Sabbath to rest, rejuvenate, and prepare for the fall. Having a break for the rest of August will allow all of our incredible volunteers to have a 3-week respite.
Our Sunday morning gatherings will resume on September 1.
Finding God in the Modern World
Dear Life Church Family and Friends,
I wanted to let you know that Brent, Amy, Claire, and Caleb will be returning to Ohio at the end of July. This difficult decision was made after a long season of prayer and discussion. While we desperately wish that they didn’t have to leave, we fully support them and agree with them in their decision that it would be best for them to go back to Ohio to be closer to their extended family as they continue to grieve, mourn, and find healing as a family after losing their son, Benjamin.
Below is the letter that Brent and Amy wrote explaining their decision.
John Wimber's Testimony Video
On May 5, we are beginning a new teaching series called "Finding God in the Modern World" where we will be considering some hard questions about faith, doubt, science, and secularism. Is faith and doubt compatible? Is Christianity and science compatible? How could a good God allow evil and suffering? Can the Bible be trusted? How can there be only one true religion? Why should I believe in Jesus?
Serve With Us
Life Church is part of the Vineyard Movement. And as a movement, we have been profoundly impacted by the ministry of John Wimber. This is his testimony video.
Winter Retreat 2019
Life Church is possible because of the incredible team of volunteers who serve Jesus and each other by using their time, energy, and gifts to make church happen. It’s our hope that everyone who calls Life Church home would serve in at least one area of ministry to grow in their relationship with Jesus and connect with other people in our community.
A Story about Community, Faith, and Love by Jenn Richards
Our second annual Winter Retreat was amazing! Lots of great food. Fun games. And yes, the talent show. We had a special appearance by Sean Connery who read a few verses for us from the book of Leviticus, Baby Shark and Daddy shark did the doo doo doo doo doo doo, and we got a taste of Northern Ireland! Fun was had by all! Check out some of the photos and videos below! :)
Here's a story Jenn Richards shared about discovering community in Vancouver and how God meets us as we step out in faith and love. #community #churchplanting
